Dr. Ravinder Nayak, the state’s director of public health, declared the state to be on notice on Friday. Regarding the procedures to be followed, the Center has written to the World Health Organization (WHO). The State would behave appropriately once there were central directives. Official machinery was ready and vigilant, he added.

Concerns about another Covid pandemic were heightened by the emergence of the novel virus that was causing respiratory issues. But according to experts, there was no need to fear. Dr. Atul Goel, the Director-General of Health Services (DGHS), said that there was no need for concern. Like any other respiratory virus that causes the common cold, the metapneumovirus may induce flu-like symptoms in both young and elderly persons.
