Ankit Tiwari (24) called his sister living in Kashmir and said, "Sister, I am very upset... I am going to die." After this, the young man switched off the phone and committed suicide by hanging himself. The upset sister sent his friend Sachin Chaudhary to the house, but by then Ankit had already hanged himself. The police and forensic team reached the spot after getting the information and also found a suicide note on the spot. According to the police, the reason for the suicide is a love affair.
This incident happened on Thursday in the BSNL colony located in Ramganga Vihar of the Civil Lines police station area of the city. Gyanalakshmi Tiwari, a resident of the colony, originally hails from Gosaiganj in Ayodhya. Her husband Srikant Tiwari was working in BSNL. After his death, Gyanalakshmi got a job. Gyanalakshmi's elder son Ankush Tiwari lives with his family in the village.
Daughter Shilpi lives in Kashmir with her husband. Gyanalakshmi lived with her younger son Ankit Tiwari. Ankit was employed on contract in Jal Nigam. Gyanalakshmi told the police that on Thursday afternoon at around 2:30, Ankit called Shilpi and said that he was very upset and was going to commit suicide. After this, he switched off the phone.
After this, Shilpi informed her mother about this and asked her to go home immediately. Shilpi also asked Ankit's friend Sachin Chaudhary, who lives in the neighbourhood, to go to the house. Sachin immediately reached home and saw that the door was locked from inside. By then Gyanalakshmi also reached the spot.
Sachin climbed a ladder with the help of construction workers nearby and looked through the window to see Ankit hanging from a noose with the help of a dupatta. On receiving the information, CO Civil Lines Arpit Kapoor and police station in-charge Manish Saxena reached the spot. They took information from the deceased's mother. The forensic team investigated and brought down the body from the noose.
In the suicide note, Ankit wrote that whatever I am doing, I am doing it of my own free will. I am responsible for this. After I am gone, all the money I have should be given to my mother. I want my family to be happy always. Bhaiya, always take care of mummy. I will not be able to support you. I apologize to everyone for that.
If possible, perform my last rites in Ayodhya only. I want to live there only. If I get the next birth, I should meet my mother only. My mother is very loving. In the suicide note, Ankit wrote that I wanted to tell the law enforcers to understand the boys, and that not every boy is wrong. At the end, he wrote… wherever I am, I want to be with you.
Gyanalakshmi said that she went to work on Thursday morning like every day. Ankit was present at home then. He did not seem to be in any kind of trouble. Crying, she said that if she had even the slightest idea that her son was in some trouble, she would have stayed at home and saved her son's life. Gyanalakshmi, who is distraught by her son's death, is unable to stop crying.
