Harry Potter star Georgina Leonidas' rise to fame – from CBBC role to talented family

No matter how long the films have been on our screens, people are still in love with .

When it comes to the magical of Hogwarts, it seems our love never dies. So much so that Potterheads still share ideas, theories and facts about the series online to this day.

Recently, one user said they would have liked to learn more about Katie Bell - who was played by actress, Georgina Leonidas, now 34.

Her character appeared in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One and Harry Potter in the Deathly Hallows Part Two. Though only starring in the later films, she's still recognised by many fans.

As well as being famed for her role in Harry Potter she previously starred in The Basil Brush Show where she played Molly way back in 2002. She appeared in every single episode between series one and four, and at different times from series five onwards.

But, although you may remember her in these roles, her acting career actually started a lot earlier. Georgina's first role was in 1999 when she played Little Cosette in Les Misérables on stage in London.

She also bagged a short role in Holby City before securing the role of Bell in Harry Potter in 2007. After her days at Hogwarts, Georgina went onto appear in a stage play called The Real Thing.

Then, in 2013, she took on the role of Simone in the short film Untouchable, and also played Gemma Raven in the CBBC series Wizards vs Aliens. A year later, she starred as Lucía Amory in the Agatha Christie play Black Coffee, and also took on the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast at the Theatre Royal in Windsor in December 2014.

In more recent years, her whereabouts are a bit more undocumented, and she hasn't posted on since 2021. Talent seems to run in the family though as two of her siblings, Dimitri and Stephanie, are also famous actors.

Both have appeared in everything from The Monuments Men and Down to Earth, through to MirrorMask and The Bill over the years. As well as this, her older sister Stephanie also developed a children's book with her husband, Robert Boulter, called The Adventures Of Presley & Bella and the Invisible Monster.
