Fatty liver disease is becoming a common but serious health problem. When excess fat accumulates in the liver, it is called fatty liver. If it is not controlled in time, it can cause serious diseases like liver inflammation (hepatitis) and liver cirrhosis. Especially Grade-2 fatty liver patients should pay special attention to their diet and lifestyle.

Grade 2 fatty liver is a condition when the amount of fat in the liver is higher than normal and it becomes clear in the ultrasound. In this situation, the ability of the liver to function gradually starts to be affected. This condition is caused due to unbalanced diet, obesity, alcohol consumption and lack of physical activity.

Things to avoid:

Alcohol: Alcohol is one of the biggest causes of fatty liver. It causes more damage to the liver. Alcohol in grade 2 should be completely abandoned.

Fried and junk food: Trans fats present in fried and roasted and junk foods like burgers, pizzas, samosas accumulate more fat on the liver. Avoid eating it completely.

Sweets and sugary drinks: Excessive consumption of sugar and fizzy drinks can further damage the liver. Especially avoid canned juices, cold drinks, and cakes.

Red meat and processed food: Red meat and processed food increase the pressure on the liver. It is important to remove them from the diet.

Too much salt: Too much salt can increase inflammation of the liver. Use less salt in your food.

What to eat?

* Green leafy vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.

* Lean proteins such as egg whites and pulses.

* Healthy fats like nuts and seeds.

* Drink enough water to detox the liver.

Patients with grade 2 fatty liver should consult a doctor regularly and get liver function tests done. Along with this, regular exercise and weight loss are also important.
