BJP releases its first list of 29 candidates for Delhi Assembly elections

New Delhi: Parvesh Verma will run against AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal for the New Delhi assembly seat in the February 2025 polls, according to the BJP’s initial list of 29 candidates.

In a three-way race for the New Delhi seat, former Lok Sabha MP Parvesh Verma will face off against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and Congressman Sandip Dixit.

Karol Bagh native Dushyant Gautam is now serving as the national general secretary of the BJP.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi from Kalkaji will face off against Manjinder Singh Sirsa from Rajouri Garden, Kailash Gehlot from Bijwasan, and Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhi Nagar.

It has been requested that Parvesh Verma fortify the BJP organization in New Delhi. He had said to ANI that he was prepared to take on Arvind Kejriwal.

One politician connected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma. He is now the Member of Parliament for the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat. Sahib Singh Verma, a former top BJP politician and Delhi Chief Minister, is the father of Pravesh Verma.

Verma won from Mehrauli in the 2013 assembly elections and served as the representative for the West Delhi Lok Sabha from 2014 to 2019. From 1996 to 1998, his father, Sahib Singh Verma, was Delhi’s chief minister. In 2025, the Delhi Assembly’s five-year tenure will come to an end, and elections may be conducted in February.

In the 2020 assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won 62 of the 70 available seats. The party won 67 of 70 seats in the 2015 assembly elections, giving them a complete majority.
