Samples of many essential medicines made in Himachal and Uttarakhand failed, know which medicines are included in the list and what are their risks.
Jaipur, Serious questions have arisen regarding drug safety, when recently news came out about the failure of samples of medicines like paracetamol, insulin injection, and rabeprazole. In the sampling done by the drug department, it was found that these medicines were not in accordance with the prescribed standards. The department has immediately banned the sale of these batches.
The shocking thing is that most of the failed medicines are made in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Earlier also, the quantity of ingredients was found to be very low or completely missing in many medicines coming from these states.
1. Rabeprazole and Sustain Release Domperidone Capsule: This medicine is useful for digestive problems and neuro disorders. The amount of rabeprazole was found to be very low in this medicine made in Uttarakhand.
2. Betamethasone: The amount of active ingredient in this anti-inflammatory medicine was found to be very low in Solan, Himachal.
3. Nimuslide and Paracetamol: The ingredients of this medicine, useful for fever and pain, have become outdated and ineffective.
4. Heparin Sodium Injection: This medicine is given to prevent clot formation. The ingredients in this medicine made in Solan were not in the correct proportion.
5. Insulin injection: The amount of zinc in this medicine coming from Ahmedabad was less than the prescribed standards.
Drug Controller Ajay Phatak said that the sale of the batches whose samples have failed has been banned. Strict action will be taken against such companies in future.
Experts believe that the number of samples of medicines coming from Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh should be increased. Along with this, it is necessary to blacklist the companies which fail continuously so that the safety of patients can be ensured.
