Bihar chairman Minister Nitish Kumar said he “went here and there by mistake” after Rashtriya Janata Dal chairman Lalu Yadav invited him to join the party a few days earlier. He also said the party will now remain united and develop the nation and Bihar independently.

The chief minister of Bihar also criticized the Lalu Prasad-led administration that ruled the state before to 2005, saying, “Bihar ki halat kaafi kharab thi (the state of Bihar was really bad) before the year 2005.” After dark, many were terrified to leave their houses. The roads were in poor shape, the quality of schooling was poor, there was no medical treatment plan in place, and there were frequent reports of religious conflicts.

“We made the error of going here and there twice. However, we will now always remain together and work with Bihar to build the nation,” he said.

At a review meeting held at the Gopalganj Collectorate Hall, Kumar said these things. Since his party was given the mandate on November 24, 2005, Nitish Kumar described the several programs that have been crucial to the growth of the state.

Ahead of the next Bihar elections, there is continuous conjecture over a potential “alliance” between the JDU and the Mahagathbandhan.

Following RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav’s statement that the Bihar Chief Minister might still rejoin the state’s “Mahagathbandan,” Nitish Kumar made his comments. The two leaders’ relationship has previously been strained within the alliance, which consists of Congress, RJD, CPI, CPI(M), and CPI(ML).

“For Nitish, our doors are open. He needs to loosen his gates as well. People from both sides will be able to travel more easily as a result,” Lalu Yadav said on Thursday.

Prior to joining the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Nitish Kumar had previously partnered with the RJD twice, in 2015 and 2022.
