Now you can use the internet on Air India flights. The airline has started offering Wi-Fi service on both domestic and international flights. This service will be available on Airbus A350 Boeing 787-9 and select Airbus A321neo aircraft. Air India has become the first airline in India to offer Wi-Fi on domestic flights. Notably this achievement comes before Elon Musks Starlink service has even launched. Internet on laptops tablets and phones On Air India flights passengers can use this service to access social media and messaging apps staying connected. Wi-Fi can be used on devices such as laptops tablets and smartphones that run on iOS or Android operating systems. Additionally passengers can connect multiple devices once the flight reaches an altitude of 10000 feet. Free service initially Before the Wi-Fi service was introduced on domestic routes Air India had already started the service on international flights as part of a pilot program on Airbus A350 select Airbus A321neo and Boeing B787-9 aircraft flying to destinations like New York London Paris and Singapore. Initially Wi-Fi service will be available for free. Gradual rollout Air India has mentioned that it will gradually start offering Wi-Fi service on its other aircraft as well. However the airline has also stated that the Wi-Fi connection during the flight depends on several factors such as satellite connectivity overall bandwidth usage the flight route and government regulations. How to connect? To connect to Wi-Fi passengers need to turn on Wi-Fi on their device select the Air India Wi-Fi network and enter their PNR number and last name on the portal.
