There is a sense of excitement as Prayagraj’s citizens and pilgrims prepare for the Maha Kumbh Mela. For this once-every-14-year rite, seers and devotees from India and other countries have congregated here.
Many seers and sages have blessed the holy land of Sangam, making it the center of attention. These include E-rickshaw Baba, who traveled all the way from Delhi to Prayagraj; Chabhi Wale Baba, who wanders around with a 20-kilogram key; and Chhotu Baba, who gained notoriety for going 32 years without taking a bath.
One Bavander Baba and another Splendor Baba, who came at the Maha Kumbh on Sunday, will now have their turn.
While Splendor Baba, who is disabled, traveled all the way from Gujarat and completed a 14-day trek on his three-wheeler motorbike, Bavander Baba arrived in the holy region after traveling one lakh kilometers.
“My ashram is situated between Ahmedabad and Rajkot. I traveled from Gujarat for the Kumbh Mela in order to honor the Sanatan Dharma and the sadhus here. Polio has left me differently abled. It occurred when I was three years old. I needed fourteen days. Due to the rain, I had to locate lodging for four days. I visited Kumbh in 2013, too, but this time, I feel like something special is taking place,” Splendo Baba told ANI.
Bavander Baba, who is traveling the nation spreading Sanatan Dharma, said that he would voice his worries about Hindus’ contempt for gods and goddesses.
“Why Hindus themselves are disdaining our gods and goddesses is a major worry of mine. We are at this “Kumbh Kshetra,” and I discovered a bundle of “beedi” with the picture of Lord Shiva on it. I’ve sent similar letters to the chief ministers of fourteen states. “Hopefully, some action will be taken to put an end to all of this,” he said.
To provide comfortable transportation for pilgrims preparing to attend the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela, which is set to start on January 13, the Uttar Pradesh government will install electric buses in the meantime. Before the Kumbh, around ten to fifteen buses are scheduled to start running in the holy city.
Ahead of the major bathing festival, Mauni Amavasya, on January 29, 30 more buses would be sent from the Lucknow headquarters to Prayagraj.
In order to provide devotees with smooth transportation services and make the trip more pleasant, electric buses will run on a number of routes. These buses will be essential to the transportation system as crores of people are anticipated to attend the Maha Kumbh.
After twelve years, the Maha Kumbh is being held, and from January 13 to February 26, Prayagraj is anticipated to see a large number of people. The district government has been taking significant measures to protect the devotees from accidents, particularly with regard to crowd control and preventing fire occurrences.
To protect the safety of the devotees, the Maha Kumbh management has chosen to use both people deployment and technical technologies. The government has deployed quick response vehicles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) that can operate on any kind of terrain, firefighting robots, and fire mist motorcycles, according to ADG (Fire Department) Padmaja Chauhan.
On January 14th (Makar Sankranti), January 29th (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3rd (Basant Panchami), the principal bathing ceremonies, called Shahi Snan (royal baths), will be held.
