“You’re welcome. In Delhi, the Election Commission is operating well. We have no doubt that Delhi’s elections will be fair. The candidates will reach out to voters once the dates are set, and the BJP administration will undoubtedly be constituted,” he told the media report.

When asked about the purported voter deletion, he said, “It is a part of their (AAP) politics to put pressure on the Election Commission.”

According to the Election Commission of India, the Delhi assembly vote schedule would be revealed on Tuesday afternoon.
In the 2020 assembly elections, the BJP won eight seats while the AAP won 62 of the 70 seats.

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, has earlier said that there was “large-scale” fraud in the insertion and deletion of voters in the New Delhi Assembly seat.

Kejriwal referenced a letter from Chief Minister Atishi to the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer in a post on X. “There is widespread fraud occurring in the New Delhi assembly’s voter additions and removals. In this letter to the CEC, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi ji presents facts and requests a meeting time,” he added.

In her correspondence with the Delhi CEO, Chief Minister Atishi stated, “I am writing to urgently draw your attention towards a significant surge in voter addition and deletion applications in the New Delhi Assembly Constituency over the past few days.” She said that 13,276 Form-6 were received between October 29, 2024, and January 2, 2025. “From October 29 to January 2, 6,166 Form-7 were received,” said CM Atishi.

According to draft electoral records released on October 29, 2024, after summary correction, there were 106,873 ballots cast overall. 6,166 votes, or 5.77 percent of all votes, are requested to be removed, she continued.

According to the Delhi Chief Minister’s letter, the Election Registration Officer (ERO) would personally evaluate each deletion request if the requested deletions exceed two percent of the total votes.

BJP Delhi President Virendraa Sachdeva responded by accusing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha of threatening the poll inspector and demanding that they be held accountable. This followed a letter from the New Delhi District Election Officer to the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi about the claims made by AAP leaders regarding the removal of voters from the New Delhi Assembly Constituency. Sachdeva further said that Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Arvind Kejriwal, and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi are all complicit in the plot to destroy democracy.
