January 7, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Shaurya Samman 2025, which honored Uttar Pradesh police officials, army members, and paramilitary forces, was held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Lucknow by ITV Network and India News. For the previous ten years, this event has been held consistently.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was the main guest and presented the Shaurya Samman award to 17 martyrs. The 17 martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation were honored by CM Yogi. These martyrs included: Police Inspector Martyr Anil Kumar Maurya, Constable Martyr Narendra Kumar Tiwari, Constable Martyr Harshvardhan Singh Bisen, Jawan Martyr Ramesh Yadav, Constable Havildar Devi Prakash Singh, Constable Lal Ram, Constable Raja Singh, Havildar Kunwar Singh Chaudhary, Section Commander Martyr Raja Singh, Police Inspector Martyr Anil Kumar Maurya, Constable Martyr Sudama Ram, Head Constable Martyr Shashikant Tiwari, and Constable Ram Samujh Yadav. The Chief Minister presented the honor to the martyrs’ families.
Retired Major Dhirendra Nath Singh of the Kumaon Regiment, who received the Veer Chakra for his outstanding combat abilities during the 1965 conflict, was honored by Chief Minister Yogi. The families of Uttar Pradesh’s martyrs and gifted people, such as well-known performers Vineet Kumar Singh, Kushal Tandon, and Aahana Kumra, were also honored by the chief minister. ITV Network’s homage to the courageous individuals who gave their all for the nation’s security is a major national obligation, said Chief Minister Yogi, who complimented India News.
BJP MLA from Kalka, Haryana, Shakti Rani Sharma, Dr. Aishwarya Pandit Sharma, the chairperson of The Sunday Guardian Foundation, and Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma were among the dignitaries who attended the Shaurya Samman event. ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash, a number of UP government ministers, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, and other well-known individuals attended the event.
DSP Vimal Kumar Singh, DSP Navendu Kumar, Inspector Gyanendra Kumar Rai, Head Constable Sunil Kumar, Head Constable Sushil Kumar, Inspector Jitendra Kumar Singh, Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar Singh Chauhan, Head Constable Anil Kumar, Head Constable Hariom, Sub-Inspector Jitendra Pratap Singh, Constable Vipin Kumar, and Inspector Rajiv Chaudhary were among the police officers who received the Shaurya Samman award from MP Kartikeya Sharma. Furthermore, for her outstanding service to Mission Shakti, Inspector Aruna Rai received the Shaurya Samman award.
Speaking to the crowd, the Chief Minister said that the sacrifice made by a martyr is what makes a community what it is. Society has continuously been given new life by the lengthy history of sacrifices made for the country and religion. During the Amrit Mahotsav festivities, the chief minister also mentioned Prime Minister Modi’s bold plan to make India a developed country by 2047. He also emphasized PM Modi’s Panch Pran effort, highlighting the need to honor notable figures, show respect to security personnel, and erase any remaining colonial effects.
The Chief Minister emphasized the vital role played by jawans, who brave harsh weather and temperatures to protect the country’s borders. Jawans continue to guard the nation day and night despite temperatures dropping to -20, -25, and -10 degrees Celsius. In order to provide the people a feeling of security, the police also monitor the area nonstop.
The Chief Minister emphasized that it would be a breach of national responsibility to disregard the families of martyrs or to fail to honor the jawans of the army, paramilitary, and police services. He emphasized how crucial it is to honor the sacrifices made by Jawans who fought in the 1965–1971 conflict with Pakistan as well as the families of those who lost their lives and Jawans who took part in other operations within the nation.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the foundation of a civilized society is security. He also emphasized the need of finding a balance between personal freedom and accountability, making sure that one’s own rights do not conflict with those of others. He pointed out that the main need for security is sound administration, citing Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution. As a result, honoring Jawans who put in endless effort to develop excellent government is crucial to carrying out national obligations.
People now have total trust in the law, said Amitabh Yash, ADG Law and Order for UP. He said that there are no longer any gangs in Uttar Pradesh, and lesser groups are leaving the state. The ADG promised that sophisticated security measures, including surveillance equipment to track every movement inside the fairgrounds, are in place for the Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
Brajesh Pathak, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, said that the state’s criminals now fear the law and that progress is being made, with all districts having access to full electricity. He emphasized that the administration wants to move Uttar Pradesh closer to development. The Deputy Chief Minister further affirmed that plans for the safety and well-being of pilgrims and visitors had been taken in advance of the Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
The Sunday Guardian Foundation’s chairperson, Aishwarya Pandit Sharma, expressed gratitude to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his support of the Shaurya Samman event on the ITV network. She said that ITV Network would keep celebrating heroes throughout the country and commended the Uttar Pradesh government for its efforts to eradicate crime and corruption in the state since 2017.
