Mumbai – Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has given 28 days furlough to notorious don Arun Gawli. Nagpur Bench Judge Nitin Sambre and Hon. Vrushali Joshi gave this decision.

Gawli applied to the jail superintendent on 18 August 2024. But in view of the possibility of law and order problems arising during the assembly elections, the application was rejected.

Gawli challenged this order in the High Court. A demand was made to cancel the decision of the jail authority by arguing that he had followed the law every time during the furlough.

After hearing both the sides, the court accepted Gawli's petition. Shiv Sena corporator Kalmalkar is serving life imprisonment in the Jamsandekar murder case. Jamsandekar was murdered in 2007.
