The well-known television actress Deepika Singh played the role of Basanti in the classic film “Sholay.”
With a humorous twist, Deepika posted a video of herself dancing to the song “Haan Jab Tak Hai Jaan” from the 1975 movie on Instagram.
Deepika’s “Mangal Lakshmi” co-star Naman Shaw opens the clip by portraying legendary actor Dharmendra’s character “Veeru” and uttering the well-known phrase, “Basanti in kutto ke samne mat nachana.”
When Deepika responds, the twist occurs: “No, jab tak hai jaan main toh reel banaungi. Until I die, I shall continue to create reels.
After that, the actress begins to dance to the song “Haan Jab Tak Hai Jaan,” which was performed by the late, great vocalist Lata Mangeshkar. The song was first filmed with Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and Amjad Khan, who played the movie’s famous antagonist, Gabbar Singh.
“Before we roll for the shoot, Mein to reel banaungi,” the TV personality said as the description for the video. #morningvibes #onlocationfun #deepikasingh #namanshaw.
Speaking about “Sholay,” Ramesh Sippy helmed the action-adventure movie. In order to apprehend the vicious criminal Gabbar Singh, a retired police officer played by Sanjeev Kumar hires two criminals, Veeru and Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Jai.
Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan also play the roles of Basanti and Radha, Veeru and Jai’s respective love interests.
Over two and a half years, the movie was filmed in Karnataka’s rugged Ramanagara region. It was the highest-grossing Indian movie at the time and remained so till Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
In contrast, the poignant tale “Mangal Lakshmi” is on the relationship between Mangal and Lakshmi, two sisters. Mangal sets out to locate the ideal husband for her cherished sister, Lakshmi, as she makes her way through life’s trials.
