‘Bring peanuts then you will get treatment’… Mother kept in pain in Lucknow’s Lokbandhu Hospital, newborn lost his life

A strange case of negligence and arbitrariness has come to light in the Lokbandhu Raj Narayan Joint Hospital located on Kanpur Road in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Here in the gynecology department, a woman was suffering due to labor pain. When the family requested the nursing staff to see him, they were asked to bring peanuts first. Finally, after getting the peanuts, he tried it, but by then it was too late and the matter had worsened.

In such circumstances, the mother was referred to the medical college, where the newborn child died. According to the information, pregnant Kajal, living in Latif Nagar of Banthra Kotwali area, was brought to this hospital for delivery. After examination the doctor said that there would be a normal delivery. When the woman started labor pain late at night, the family asked to see the staff posted there. But the staff asked him to bring peanuts first. The family members searched with great difficulty and brought peanuts worth Rs 100.

When the matter worsened, it was referred.

After this the staff tried to help. Since by then it was too late and the matter had worsened. After this the staff told that operation would have to be done and demanded money for it. Then after some time, seeing the situation going out of control, he was referred to the medical college. In such a situation, the family took him to the medical college, where the child died. It was told that dirty water had entered his mouth.

Complaint given in one stop center

In this case, the family members of the pregnant woman have accused the hospital staff of negligence and arbitrariness. In this regard, a written complaint has also been given in the one stop center established in the hospital. On getting information about the matter, hospital director Rajesh Kumar has constituted an investigation committee. He said that if found guilty during investigation, action will be taken against the staff as per rules.
