Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have faced a lot of criticism after their disappointing performance in the 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Indian team Had to face defeat in the series against Australia and after the defeat, most questions are being raised on these two legends because both of them did not score runs at all from their bats.
Amidst the continuous criticism of these two, former Indian cricket team all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has supported Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Yuvi has said that both these players have done a lot for India and runs are not coming from their bats but they will return to form soon.
Yuvraj said in a program quoted by News18 on Tuesday, January 07, “We are talking about our great players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. We are saying very bad things about them. People forget what they have achieved in the past. He is one of the greatest cricketers of this time. Okay, they lost, they didn't play good cricket but they will be more sad than us.”
Chandigarh-born Yuvraj expressed confidence in Kohli, Rohit, head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar. He feels that he is the best mind to take Indian cricket forward. Speaking further, Yuvi said, “I think Gautam Gambhir as coach, Ajit Agarkar as selector, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are the best minds in cricket at the moment and they have to decide what will happen in the future. What will be the path of Indian cricket?
Concluding his talk, Yuvi said, “I think this is a big thing. I have never seen before that the captain's form is not going well and he himself is out and it is the greatness of Rohit Sharma that he He has put the team ahead of himself. Whether we win or lose, we have won the (ODI) World Cup. We have achieved a lot.”
