Make this special thokku of raw mango on Pongal, know its easy method

Mango Dish: Winter season is going on and the festive season has also started in this season. In this season everyone likes to make new things for enjoyment. Pongal festival is going to arrive in South India in a few days. On this special occasion, you can prepare this South Indian dish i.e. Thokku, it is a very popular dish and cuisine of South India. You can make it at home and make it last for a long time.

You may find this Thokku dish spicy, sour and spicy in taste. Apart from roti or paratha, this dish tastes good with rice also. Let us know the method of making it..

What material do you need?

Here these ingredients will help you in making this type of dish which are as follows…

Raw mango- 2 cups
Oil- 5 spoons
Mustard – 1 tsp
Curry leaves- 12
Asafoetida- 1 pinch
Turmeric powder- half teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 2 teaspoons
Fennel powder- 1 tsp
Fenugreek powder- 1 tsp
Jaggery- 1 tsp
Salt- as per taste

method of thokku

1- First of all, prepare the ingredients mentioned above. Then wash the raw mango, peel it and grate it.
2- Now heat oil in a pan and when it becomes hot, add mustard seeds and let it crackle.
3- Then add curry leaves and asafoetida and fry lightly. Now add grated raw mango to it and fry it for 2-3 minutes.
4-Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, fennel powder, fenugreek powder and salt. Mix it well and let it cook on low flame. 5-When the mango mixture starts thickening and oil starts leaving the sides, add jaggery to it. Mix the jaggery well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
6-Your dish is ready, which you can serve by keeping it in a jar. This dish tastes very good with rice and paratha.
