Sometimes we get a lot of happiness at once and sometimes all the difficulties knock at the same time. Indian cricket Yuzvendra Chahal is currently going through the second situation, where things are getting worse for him one by one. Till about 6-7 months ago, Chahal was a part of Team India and had returned after winning the T20 World Cup. But the last 6 months have been very bad for him. Not only was he cut off from Team India, but there are also reports of his separation from his wife Dhanashree Verma. Amidst this difficult period in his personal life, Chahal has now faced another setback on the career front.
After being dropped from Team India, Chahal has now been dropped from his state team Haryana also. Till a few days ago, Chahal was a part of the team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and was playing continuously but he has not got a chance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Chahal was not included even in the group stage of the tournament and now Chahal has not been selected for the quarter-finals also. It is being speculated that perhaps due to the ongoing turmoil in his personal life, he has been given a break for the time being but the association has denied this.
In its report, Cricbuzz quoted an official of Haryana Cricket Association as saying that Chahal has not been selected in the team not for personal reasons but for reasons related to cricket. This official has told that such a decision has been taken to prepare a new spinner for the future and the selectors have also talked about this to Chahal, who was ready for it. In such a situation, leg-spin all-rounder Parth Vats has been included in the team. Haryana had won the title of this tournament last year and Chahal played a special role in it.
However, Chahal is still not completely away from cricket as he still has a chance for IPL. Chahal, the most successful bowler of the Indian Premier League, has been bought by Punjab Kings with a hefty bid of Rs 18 crore in the mega auction held for the new season. In this way he became the most expensive spinner in IPL auction history. Before this, Chahal was a part of Rajasthan Royals for 3 consecutive seasons, where he also won the Purple Cap. IPL 2025 season will start from March 15.
