New Delhi: Actress Pratyusha Banerjee died at the age of 24 on April 1, 2016. She allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself at her flat in Mumbai.

Now, nine years after her death, ex-boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who was accused in connection with the death case, made some shocking claims against actress Kamya Punjabi.

He made some serious allegations against Kamya Punjabi and Vikas Gupta, stating that they “falsely accused” him of murdering Pratyusha. Let’s delve into more details!

What did Rahul say about Kamya Punjabi?

Speaking on Subhojit Ghosh’s podcast, Rahul Singh said that Kamya Punjabi claimed that Pratyusha had no financial burden and that she wasn’t out of work but Vikas Gupta did not offer work to the late Balika Vadhu actress but “made such statements”. He claimed that Kamya started the narrative and Vikas Gupta and Rakhi Sawant took it ahead.

Kamya pushed Pratyusha into drinking: Rahul

Rahul accused Kamya Punjabi of pushing the late actress Pratyusha into drinking, saying, “They used to drink a lot. I wanted Pratyusha to stop drinking. Her friends used to party a lot.” He further added that Pratyusha knew that he is asking her to stop drinking for her own benefit and so, she stopped going to “such parties”. He said, “That's why I became a villain for them. They thought I was taking away Pratyusha from them. Kamya used to party a lot, everyone knows.”

Kamya borrowed Rs 2.5 lakh from Pratyusha?

Rahul, the former boyfriend of Pratyusha Banerjee, further claimed that Kamya Punjabi had borrowed Rs 2.5 lakh from the late actress and never paid her back. He recalled that when she asked Kamya to return it, she said she has no work and promised to return later. The actor also opened up about the one time he met Kamya at a party where she was “totally high”.

After Pratyusha Banerjee’s tragic death, her parents filed a complaint against Rahul Singh and he was booked for abetment of suicide, criminal intimidation, voluntarily causing harm, and intentional insult under the IPC Penal Code. In 2023, a session court rejected his discharge plea, citing that prime facie is clear that “physical, emotional and financial harassment and exploitation led the late actress in depression.
