Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee, who worked alongside Sushant Singh Rajput in the film Sonchiriya, fondly remembered their time together on set. Recently, The Family Man star shared insights about the advice he gave Sushant regarding the film industry. He also revealed that Sushant's tragic death deeply affected him, leaving him saddened for three months.
During a recent appearance on Mid-day’s podcast series, The Bombay Film Journey, he shared that when discussing the industry and its politics, he often advised his friend, Sushant Singh Rajput to develop a “thick skin”, as the challenges could be overwhelming otherwise. He mentioned that having faced numerous rejections himself, he had built resilience over time, but many of his friends lacked that same toughness. For them, dealing with rejection was far more difficult. In the same podcast, he also called the Kai Po Che star a “voracious reader” with a “fantastic mind.” He also revealed how Sushant’s death left him sad for three months.

Sonchiriya was a slow-burning thriller which released in 2019. It is based on the life of the dacoits of the Chambal district. It had an ensemble cast of Sushant, Manoj, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ranveer Shorey, among others. It is co-written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey, starring Manoj Bajpayee in a guest appearance. Manoj Bajpayee was last seen in Despatch, streaming on ZEE 5. Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film was Dil Bechara which was released posthumously on the streaming platform Disney Plus Hotstar.
