An incident of poaching in the forests of Sabalpura village of Chaumun town of Jaipur district on Wednesday night shocked everyone. The poachers brutally killed more than 24 Nilgais. When the villagers went to the forest on Thursday, they came to know about the incident after seeing the remains of the Nilgais. Seeing the poachers running away, the villagers chased them and caught one poacher, who was later handed over to the police.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, SHO Kamal Singh of Kaladera Police Station said that an investigation had been started in this case. Identification and search of the absconding poachers is going on. A large amount of evidence has been found from the spot, including 150 live cartridges, 90 empty cartridge shells, a pistol, and a dagger. Apart from this, the police have also recovered two Aadhar cards, which will help in identifying the poachers.
After the incident, a large number of villagers gathered at the spot. There is a lot of anger among the villagers and they have demanded strict action against the culprits. Police are interrogating the arrested hunter Vikas Bavaria so that other hunters can be identified. In this case, Ghinoi's Sarpanch Ekta Kanwar called this hunting incident very serious and shameful. She said that the accused had carried out such incidents earlier as well. She demanded the administration to take strict action in this case and give strict punishment to the hunters.
It is noteworthy that beef is served secretly in Jaipur, Bharatpur and many other districts. But beef is much more expensive than Nilgai meat. This is why Nilgai is being hunted continuously for meat. But in such a big incident, Nilgai has been killed for the first time in Rajasthan.
