The service of Zomato and Swiggy which delivers food in 15 minutes may now get a big blow. Both these companies were recently claiming to deliver food in 10 minutes. For this, he had also launched separate standalone apps. Now the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has demanded the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to come into this matter against these apps.

There may be damage to the hotel

NRAI says that Zomato and Swiggy are selling food directly through their new apps like Blinkit's Bistro and Swiggy's Snack. This is a matter of concern for the hotel. Speaking to ET, Wow Momo CEO Sagar Daryani says that the strategy of these companies can cause losses to the hotel. These companies are selling food as private labels on their platforms. This is creating difficulty for restaurants.

Apart from this, Zomato and Swiggy are also running food delivery service within 15 minutes. They collect food from the hotel and deliver it immediately. Swiggy has started it under its Bolt model. Now this service accounts for more than 5 percent of their total food delivery orders. Daryani said that he supports quick commerce. People now want to eat quickly.

What did Sagar Daryani say?

Sagar Daryani said that as long as these companies are working with the hotel, there is no problem. When these companies start selling food themselves. In such a situation, it is a loss for the hotel. This increases competition. This is not the first time that NRAI has raised its voice against Zomato and Swiggy. Even before this, investigation was conducted against these companies. It was found that these companies had favored some restaurants.
