BREAKING: Thousands of migrants deported as Labour oversees surge in removals

Some 16,400 people with no right to be in the UK have been removed since the election - the highest figure since 2018.

Some 4,390 were enforced returns - a 24% increase compared to the same period last year, according to official data. The government has met its target to rapidly increase removals after migration numbers surged under the Tories.
