New Delhi: He just can’t stop scoring! Even at the age of 39, Cristiano Ronaldo keeps delivering the goods for his side, Al Nassr as he scored his 917th career goal against Al Akhdoud in their league clash. After Al Nassr went down in the fifth minute of the match, they responded brilliantly to hit back in the 29th minute when Sadio Mane produced a neat finish to draw level for Al Nassr. Right before the half time, Mane was involved again when he managed to win a penalty after getting fouled by Damion Lowe inside the Akhdoud box.

Who else, but Ronaldo stood up to take the penalty in the 41st minute of the game. He slotted it home with no pressure whatsoever, as he hit the top right corner to make it 2-1 for the hosts. He just keeps on adding to his tally as this was his 11th goal of the campaign, which means he sits second after Aleksander Mitrovic in the top scorers list of Saudi Pro League. He came close to scoring his second of the night when he was played in by Otavio, before he took his shot that was eventually saved by Paulo Victor in goal for Al Akhdoud.

The race to the golden boot intensifies

It has truly been an astonishing race to the top of the golden boot in the Saudi Pro League. A list that is being led by the Serbian forward Aleksander Mitrovic who has scored 12 so far, with a goal tonight, Ronaldo is keeping up the pace with 11 goals to his name. This also means that Ronaldo has scored in each of his last three league games for Al Nassr. Behind Ronaldo, it’s his former teammate Karim Benzema who currently sits on third with 10 goals to his name. As the race to the top intensifies, the three are certainly feeling the heat as Ronaldo may well go level with Mitrovic or even surpass him tonight.
