Tradition Jobs In Demand: For a long time, the IT sector has been considered number one for jobs in the country and the world, which is why youth are rapidly making their career in IT and tech. At the same time, a report has revealed that there are going to be a lot of traditional jobs in the coming times. The World Economic Forum (WEF) report states that the number of traditional jobs like farm workers and delivery drivers will increase the most in the next five years, while in terms of percentage, tech jobs i.e. people with AI and machine learning skills will be in the highest demand.

The WEF's Future Jobs Report concluded that the biggest decline can be seen in the number of clerical and secretarial employees, while the number of health workers and education personnel may increase. In India, there is a demand for experts in Big Data, AI, Machine Learning, and Security Management.

Structural factors—ranging from broadening digital access to higher costs of living, climate change mitigation, demographic shifts, and geopolitical fragmentation—could displace 8%, or 92 million, of the current workforce, the report said. But it would also create about 170 million new jobs, representing 14 percent of the current workforce.

Increased digital access, geopolitical tensions, and climate-mitigation efforts are seen as the primary trends shaping the future of jobs in India. The report said Indian companies are investing heavily in AI, robotics and autonomous systems, and energy technologies, with employers seeking to outpace global adoption in semiconductor and computing technologies and technologies such as quantum and encryption to transform their operations.

The WEF report said the US and India are seeing the highest enrolments for AI skills, with corporates playing a key role in promoting GenAI training in the country.
