The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday decided to shift the ODI tri-series from Multan to Karachi and Lahore and rejected talks of delaying the reconstruction work of these stadiums ahead of next month's Champions Trophy. The other two teams in the tri-series are South Africa and New Zealand and it is a tournament to prepare for the ICC Champions Trophy starting in Karachi from February 19.
The PCB said preparations for the Champions Trophy are in full swing and the renovation work at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium and Karachi's National Bank Stadium will be completed on or before the deadline.

What did PCB say in its issued statement?

“Given the advanced stage of preparations at Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium, the PCB has decided to shift the upcoming triangular ODI series to these two venues,” the PCB said in a statement. ,

On Wednesday, videos from the venues of the Champions Trophy matches being held in Pakistan – Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi – surfaced on several social media platforms. A report said that even the plaster work in one of these stadiums has not been completed.

“It's a very disappointing picture,” The Times of India quoted a source as saying. All three stadiums are not ready yet and this is not a renovation or improvement work, but full-scale construction work is going on. There is still much work to be done on the seats, floodlights, facilities, outfields and playing fields.
