After completing their three-day stay, Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Ajmer for the 813th Urs of Sufi Saint Khwaja Garib Nawaz are scheduled to leave today.

Pakistani pilgrims were closely monitored by authorities when they visited the Dargah of Sufi Saint Khwaja Garib Nawaz. Under the same security cordon, they were driven from Old Mandi’s Central Girls School to the Dargah, where they concluded their tour. They were taken back to the Central Girls School after the trip.

Former ADM of the city Suresh Sindhi provided information, saying, “They are leaving today and will return by train at 3:00 pm. There were eighty-nine pilgrims in all. Pilgrims were transported from and conveyed to the Dargah as it was surrounded by police.

The Pakistani pilgrims arrived in Ajmer on January 7, according to Bharat Gurjar, the person in charge of them. “They were being kept under tight security but this time, they were not allowed to go out anywhere,” Gurjar said.

One of India’s most venerated Sufi sanctuaries is the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. The Urs festival, a major occasion that honors the anniversary of the Khwaja Moinuddin Hassan Chishty’s death, draws millions of devotees from all over the globe each year.

Commencing on December 28, 2024, the 813th Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is celebrated with utmost respect. Devotees from all across the nation and abroad attend the yearly event to pay their respects and ask for blessings.

In honor of the 813th Urs, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju paid a visit to Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s hallowed Dargah in Ajmer earlier on Saturday.

“On the very auspicious occasion of the 813th Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, I had the privilege of visiting the revered Dargah Ajmer Sharif,” he said in a post he published on X after his visit. I gave the holy chadar on behalf of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji, a timeless symbol of faith, harmony, and peace that uplifts millions of people.

On the occasion of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s 813th Urs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday gave the Chadar that will be given on his behalf at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

The chadar was shown to BJP Minority Morcha President Jamal Siddiqui and Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs.During the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, this ‘Chadar’ is presented in the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. PM Modi has been commemorating the anniversary every year by sending a ‘Chadar’ to the temple.

The chadar, which is placed above Khwaja Gharib Nawaz’s shrine (mazar-e-akhdas), represents respect and devotion. Offering a chadar at Ur’s festival is seen as a potent kind of worship, a way to fulfill promises and get favors.
