Head of Cricket at Derbyshire, Mickey Arthur, is poised to combine his role at the club as the Director of Cricket for Northern Superchargers (Men) and Northern Superchargers (Women).
Arthur's recent tenure as the Team Director for Pakistan is supposed to have lured the Superchargers into acquiring him. It is reported that he will work alongside former international cricketers, Andrew Flintoff and Lisa Keightley, head coaches for the men's and women's sides, respectively. He is set to be with the county during the entirety of this year's One-Day Cup, whose schedule runs parallelly with The Hundred.
Arthur confirmed his stance to be more in sync with the proceedings at as compared to his "largely hands-off" role for the Superchargers, where he is understood to advise the side on recruitment and offer support to the head coaches.
"Derbyshire remains my primary focus and I'm committed to achieving our goals of bringing success to the club," We encourage all of our players and coaches to develop their skills in new environments and this is another example of that. As a club, our personnel are in demand and that's a testament to the work being done behind the scenes, and we are confident results will soon come on-field," stated Arthur, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
