The accused pair, Mohammad Mehedi Hasan Nazmul (20) and Shaheena Akhtar (30), were charged with operating long-distance trains to sell drugs over state lines.

Authorities confiscated Rs 8.3 lakh in cash from the suspects during the operation, which they believe to be the proceeds of narcotics activities.
Nazmul has been detained for Rs 6.3 lakh, while Akhtar has been seized for Rs 2 lakh.

Tomorrow, the people who were arrested will appear in court. Authorities think that while the matter is being investigated, further arrests could be made.

The Agartala GRP police and RPF’s coordinated operation demonstrates the region’s continuous efforts to combat drug trafficking.

In the meanwhile, as part of a significant crackdown on alleged financial irregularities connected to drug trafficking networks, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at seven sites in Tripura on Friday.

To ensure peace and order throughout the search and seizure operations, a large number of security officers were deployed during the simultaneous operations, which started early in the morning.

The searches are linked to an ongoing investigation into money laundering practices associated with the illicit drug trade, according to sources close to the case. To learn more about the activities of a potential connection between drug traffickers and financial criminals, officials are apparently looking through paperwork, digital recordings, and other evidence. We anticipate further information about the raids’ results and the evidence gathered.
