L&T Chairman and Managing Director SN Subrahmanyan sparked a debate with his remarks in which he expressed regret that he could not make his employees work on Sundays. The debate was further fueled by Subrahmanyan’s other remark suggesting that people in India should work 90 hours a week. Netizens first criticized the L&T chairman for his comments and then directed their anger toward his wife Meena Subrahmanyan. This happened after the conglomerate’s chairman made controversial remarks in which he sarcastically questioned how long his employees would continue to look at their wives while at home on Sundays.
