Do you remember the little girl who played Kamal Haasan and Tabus daughter in Chachi 420? Fatima Sana Shaikh made her screen debut at just 5 years old and captured everyones attention. Years later the actress appeared in several films such as Tahaan Bittoo Boss and Akash Vani but Aamir Khans Dangal was her first film which showed her in full length role. She was chosen to play Geeta Phogat Aamir Khans daughter who gets trained to become a wrestler. Dangal received critical acclaim and became the highest-grossing Indian films ever with earnings more than Rs 2000 crore worldwide. Fatima once in an interview revealed that she had no work for three years after her early career as a child artist in Chachi 420. She shared how she struggled to find roles during this time with casting directors telling her she didnt fit the typical image of a heroine. She signed Thugs of Hindostan (2018) alongside Aamir Khan Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif. The film was expected to be one of the biggest films waiting to be declared a blockbuster. It was made on a massive budget of Rs 300 crores but managed to earn only Rs 150 crore at the box office. The film failed to make a mark both commercially and critically. Fatima was last seen in the role of Indira Gandhi in Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur. Although the film received mix response but was declared a hit at the box office. Meanwhile the actress will be next seen in director Anurag Basu’s upcoming drama film Metro…In Dino. Backed by T-series the film also features Aditya Roy Kapur Sara Ali Khan Pankaj Tripathi Anupam Kher Neena Gupta Konkona Sen Sharma and Ali Fazal in significant roles. Apart from this she also has a romantic drama titled Ul Jalool Ishq with actor Vijay Verma.
