A few hours prior to his January 12 call for a bandh in Bihar, Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnea, said on Saturday that he and Chandrashekhar Azad, the founder of the Azad Party, and Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), are working together on the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) preliminary exam issue and will not allow the House to convene starting on March 21.
Yadav said that in order to help the impacted students and candidates in the state, he will go to several places on Sunday if needed after calling for a bandh in Bihar.
Yadav asked for a probe into the BPSC test after voicing worries about a number of anomalies in an interview with ANI.
“Examinations were held several times; weren’t they canceled in court?… Investigating the property of those engaged in this is a problem, isn’t it? Isn’t it a problem that the students’ cases ought to be dropped? Should an investigation be conducted into the lathicharge?… A day earlier, question papers were transported from Nawada to Gaya; no jammer was set up, and just 172 of the 192 bundles arrived, according to Pappu Yadav.
“Tomorrow Chandrashekhar Azad’s Azad Party and other parties, including Asaduddin Owaisi, are going to work together on this and if needed, we will go to every city and will not let the House function from March 21…” Pappu Yadav said.
A high-level investigation into the event and an investigation into the culprits will be carried out. Pappu Yadav had earlier commended the Bihar Governor for hearing their concerns.
An appeal claiming extensive malpractices at the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary Exam, which was conducted on December 13, 2024, was denied by the Supreme Court.
The petitioner was urged to take their complaints to the Patna High Court by a panel consisting of Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, Justices Sanjay Kumar, and KV Viswanathan.
