BCCI has announced Team India under the leadership of Ajit Agarkar for the 5-match T20 series between India and England (IND vs ENG) to be held from January 22 to February 2. Mohammed Shami has returned to the Indian team after a long time for the T20 series against England, while Ruturaj Gaikwad has been kept out of Team India.

For this T20 series against England, the command of the Indian team has been handed over to Suryakumar Yadav, while the vice-captain of the team has been handed over to Axar Patel for the first time. However, everyone is surprised to see the three decisions of the selectors after watching Team India against England.

IND vs ENG: These 3 decisions of Ajit Agarkar surprised everyone

BCCI has today announced Team India under the leadership of Ajit Agarkar for the 5-match T20 series against England (IND vs ENG). Ajit Agarkar has surprised everyone and shown the way out to some players, while some players have been kept out of Team India (IND vs ENG). Let us know which are those 3 decisions which cricket experts and fans are very surprised to see.

1. Why did Rituraj Gaikwad not get a chance?

Ruturaj Gaikwad is one of the most lethal players of T20. However, the fans are extremely unhappy to see him out of Team India. Rituraj Gaikwad is considered to be the most lethal batsman in T20 and in India he becomes the most lethal as an opener, so it is very shameful that he is not getting a chance.

Rituraj has so far scored 633 runs for India in 20 innings of 23 T20 matches at an average of around 40. He has 1 century and 4 fifties in his name, while his best score is 123 not out. If we talk about Rituraj Gaikwad's IPL performance, he has scored 2380 runs in 65 innings of 66 matches at an average of 41.75, his best score in IPL is 108 not out. This player has scored 2 centuries and 18 half-centuries for Chennai Super Kings.

2. Why given opportunities to Abhishek Sharma after consecutive flop shows?

Ever since Abhishek Sharma got the chance to debut for Team India, he has not been able to do anything special, there were only 2 innings when he was successful in playing big innings. He scored a century in only the second match of his career, while against South Africa he scored 1 half-century at the end of the series.

Abhishek Sharma has scored only 256 runs in 11 innings of 12 matches played for India at a modest average of 23.27, whereas Rituraj Gaikwad's average is around 40, in such a situation, it would have been the right decision to give a chance to Rituraj Gaikwad in place of Abhishek Sharma.

3. Why so much haste regarding Mohammed Shami?

Mohammed Shami was injured during the ICC World Cup 2023, after that he has been away from Team India (IND vs ENG) for almost 1 year, in such a situation, is it right to give him a chance in T20 against England, when India has to face India only next month? Champions Trophy has to be played and it is very important for Mohammed Shami to be completely fit by that time.

BCCI had given a statement some time ago regarding Mohammed Shami that he is not completely fit right now and his knee is getting swollen due to bowling too much. In such a situation, when India has to play a 3-match ODI series against England (IND vs ENG) and Mohammed Shami's fitness could have been proved there, then to what extent is it right to do so before the Champions Trophy 2025.
