For the last several days, Uttar Pradesh has been suffering from a severe cold snap. On Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy fog in 65 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Rain is also predicted by the meteorological service for January 15 and 16. A cold wave is affecting the majority of the state’s regions, including the capital city of Lucknow. The lowest recorded minimum temperature was 5.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday in Kanpur city. Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, and Gonda districts are expected to see thick to extremely intense fog on Monday, according to the IMD. Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Meerut, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bampat, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, and Pilibhit, and the neighboring districts are also expected to see thick to extremely dense fog.

In addition, the districts of Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Mau, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, and Ballia may see intense fog. Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, and Ghaziabad districts are expected to see dense fog. Additionally, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Auraiya, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, and Badaun, and the adjacent districts are under a thick fog warning.

UP Weather: Warnings of Rain

On January 14, the weather in Uttar Pradesh is predicted to stay clear. On the other hand, IMD has warned of rain on January 15 and 16. There is a chance of both heavy fog and very mild to light rain throughout this time. After then, the weather should clear.
