The “Bima Sakhi” scheme recently launched by the country’s largest life insurance company LIC has received a tremendous response. This scheme is specially designed for women. It also helps them to get opportunities to become empowered. Women are very actively coming forward to join this scheme. In just one month, more than 50,000 women registered themselves, out of which more than 27,000 women have not received appointment letters from LIC.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme on December 9, 2023, in Panipat, Haryana, and since then the scheme has been receiving a huge response. Through this scheme, women will be trained to become LIC agents, along with which they will start earning. Under this scheme, a salary of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 7,000 will be provided every month. The first year will be Rs. 7,000, the second year Rs. 6,000, and the third year Rs. 5,000 can be obtained under the salary.
The LIC Bima Sakhi Scheme training program will be for 3 years. The age limit of women who want to participate in it should be between 18 and 70 years. The minimum educational qualification required is a 10th-class pass. Only women who are relatives of LIC agents or employees are eligible to join this scheme.
Joining the LIC Bima Sakhi scheme is very easy. Women can register their applications online or by visiting the nearest LIC branch. The required documents must be correct at the time of application. A woman can apply with documents like an age certificate, residence certificate, and 10th-class pass certificate. This scheme will empower women and enable them to earn a good income as LIC agents, as well as improve their lives.
