The recently launched Bima Sakhi scheme of the country's largest life insurance company LIC has become a super hit. It can be easily estimated by looking at the number of women joining this scheme. If we look at the statistics, more than 50,000 women have registered themselves in just one month.
This scheme was brought by the government to empower women, the special thing about which is that their earnings also start with training. Let's know about it in detail.
On December 9 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the LIC Bima Sakhi scheme from Panipat, Haryana and now a month has passed. Within a month, this government scheme has received a tremendous response and 52,511 women have registered themselves. Out of which, appointment letters have also been sent to more than 27 thousand women after the entire process.
LIC's Bima Sakhi scheme is special in many ways and its biggest advantage is that along with the training provided to empower the women who join it, they also start earning money. In fact, under the Bima Sakhi scheme, they are given complete training to become LIC agents. Along with this, they are also given Rs 5000 to 7000 per month.
There is also a provision to give a monthly allowance of Rs 7,000 to the women who take training under this scheme in the first year, Rs 6,000 in the second year and Rs 5,000 in the third year. The facility of giving commission-based incentives to women who achieve their targets has also been provided.
LIC's Bima Sakhi scheme is specially designed for women and is a stipend-based scheme. The women who join it are trained to become LIC agents for three years and from the beginning they are given targets for specific policies and are given a stipend. The age limit for joining this scheme is 18 to 70 years and the minimum qualification is 10th pass. But some conditions have also been imposed.
