Jemimah Rodrigues’ cricketing journey reached a significant milestone as she leapt three spots to claim a career-best 19th position in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings.

This achievement comes on the back of her scintillating maiden international century during the second ODI against Ireland in Rajkot, where she powered India to a commanding total of 370 runs — their highest-ever score in women’s ODIs.

Rodrigues’ rise in the rankings is part of a broader narrative of Indian cricket’s progress. Fellow teammate Pratika Rawal has also demonstrated remarkable form against Ireland, climbing 52 places to reach 65th in the batting charts. Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana, leading the side in Harmanpreet Kaur’s absence, retained her spot in third place with 723 points, trailing only Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu (733) and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt (773), who continues to dominate the rankings.

Globally, Australia’s Alyssa Healy moved up to fifth after an impressive showing in the Ashes series opener against England. On the bowling front, England’s Sophie Ecclestone continues to reign supreme as the number one ODI bowler, following a six-wicket haul across the first two matches of the series.

Rodrigues’ stellar form reflects her evolution as one of India’s most reliable batters and highlights her readiness to take on future international challenges. Her breakthrough century not only boosted her global ranking but also signalled her growing importance to India’s ambitions in women’s cricket. The performances of India’s rising stars further reinforce the team’s depth and determination as they continue to push for success on the world stage.
