New Delhi: Don Bradman is considered the greatest of all time with an unmatched Test batting average of 99.96. However Australian legend Adam Gilchrist believes that Jasprit Bumrah would have significantly impacted Bradmans average.
Jasprit Bumrahs exceptional performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he claimed 32 wickets and was named Player of the Series despite Indias 1-3 loss impressed Adam Gilchrist. He praised Bumrahs performance as beyond any rating highlighting the pacers skill and impact.
To emphasize Bumrahs brilliance Adam Gilchrist boldly claimed that if Don Bradman had faced the Indian pacer his average would have been significantly lower than 99 possibly around 35.
I’m not rating him; no number can match what he is in world sport. He would have torn through Bradman’s peak in a matter of balls. His average would have been far below 99 if they faced each other. I’d give Bradman a mere 35 against Bumrah. No reward is high enough for him Gilchrist stated on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast.
