Moong Dal: 1 cup (soaked)
Ghee: 1/2 cup
Milk: 2 cups
Sugar: 1 cup
Cardamom Powder: 1/2 tsp
Dry Fruits: Cashews, Almonds, Pistachios (chopped)
1. Prepare Moong Dal:
Soak moong dal for 2-3 hours. After this grind it coarsely in a mixer.
2. Fry in ghee:
Heat ghee in a pan and fry the ground moong dal on low flame. Keep frying the dal until it becomes light golden and aromatic.
3. Add milk and sugar:
Add milk to roasted lentils and cook on low flame. When the milk gets absorbed into the dal well, add sugar to it and mix.
4. Add cardamom powder and dry fruits:
Add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits to the halwa. Mix it well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
5. Halwa ready:
When the halwa starts releasing ghee and becomes thick, take it off the flame. Your moong dal halwa is ready.
