New Delhi: After losing the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia after ten years, BCCI has become strict for the players, where it has issued new guidelines for the cricketers and their families. Under the new rules, now if a tour or tournament is of 45 or more days, then the wives of the players will be allowed to stay on the tour for a maximum of two weeks.
With this, every player will have to travel by team bus and now they will not be allowed to travel separately. According to a report in 'Dainik Jagran', BCCI has also taken strict action against head coach Gautam Gambhir and his manager. Under this, Gambhir and his manager will neither stay in the team hotel nor sit in the VIP box. According to the new guidelines, if the players' luggage exceeds 150 kg during the flight, then BCCI will not pay for it. The players have been told that they will bear this expense themselves.
Recently, India's Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma, Gambhir and selection committee chief Ajit Agarkar met top BCCI officials, including the new secretary and treasurer, where these issues were reportedly discussed. The major topics of discussion during the meeting included the future of experienced stars including Virat Kohli and Rohit as well as the tenure of Gambhir's coaching staff. It was also suggested in the meeting that the tenure of the support staff in the team should be limited to three years. BCCI believes that the team's performance has also declined because some support staff members have been with the team for a long time. Also read…
