Liton Das out of Champions Trophy: Bangladesh has announced its team for Champions Trophy 2025. But the name of any star player is not included in it. This is surprising because an experienced and talented player like Liton Das has not been named in the squad for a big tournament like the Champions Trophy. After this, there is speculation that Liton Das has also been targeted amid the ongoing oppression of minorities in Bangladesh. Now Liton Das himself has come forward in this matter and has given the reason for being out of the team.

What did Liton Das say?

Liton Das said, 'The selection of the team for the Champions Trophy was not in my hands. This decision was taken by the selectors. It is their decision as to who will play. My job is only to perform and I have not been able to do that. I was a little disappointed with this decision. I played some good innings but that time was over. Now I will start again from zero and work hard. Then let's see what happens next. My message is clear. Maybe the selectors did not say anything but that is the reason why I was not selected in the team. I didn't perform well so I was dropped from the team and there's nothing to hide in that.

Liton Das's poor performance continues

Liton Das could not improve his performance for a long time. He scored his last half-century in October 2023. He further said, 'If I perform well, I will get support from the fans but during poor performance, a negative atmosphere will be created. I was not performing well and I knew where I had to focus.

Liton Das has failed to score more than single digits in the last seven ODIs. After this, questions started being raised on his selection in the team. Keeping this in mind, the selectors did not select him in the Champions Trophy team. Even though he scored a century in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), his bat remained calm even in the initial stages.
