If the internet is not on then everyone resorts to offline SMS. Almost all telecom companies also give 100 SMS free daily in their recharge plans. From all types of OTPs to personal chats, the apps on the phone keep an eye on everything. Someone else is keeping an eye on your personal chat, someone else is also reading your messages. To avoid this, you can make a setting in your phone. After this, no one except you will be able to read your phone messages. For this, quickly turn on this setting in the phone.
First of all you have to check which apps are reading your SMS. You don't have to do much for this. Just go to settings in your smartphone. After going to settings, type SMS and search. You can click on all the apps appearing in the results one by one. In this you will be shown two options, Allow and Don't Allow, choose from both as per your need. After this your personal data will be completely safe. Your data will not be leaked to any other application.
