Pakistan's young fast bowler Ihsanullah has announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He took this decision after his recent disappointments and not being bought in the league. The 22-year-old player's performance was excellent, but still he did not get a place in the PSL draft this time, due to which he took this difficult decision.
Ihsanullah, who performed brilliantly in the Pakistan Super League, was ignored during the draft held on January 13. Very disappointed with this decision, he shared his feelings and told that his move was not just an emotional reaction, but a well-thought-out decision. Ihsanullah said that he feels that he should no longer be associated with the PSL and he wants to focus all his energy on domestic cricket, so that he can become a part of the Pakistan national team.
Ihsanullah's performance in the Pakistan Super League was excellent. He played 8 matches for the Multan Sultans team and showed his excellent performance of fast bowling in these matches. In these 8 matches, Ihsanullah took a total of 22 wickets at an economy rate of 7.59. Due to his tremendous performance, he quickly got a place in Pakistan's T20 team.
His bowling had a good mix of speed and swing, which put the opposition batsmen in trouble. Due to his excellent bowling in these 8 matches, he was seen as a key player in the team.
After performing brilliantly in PSL, Ihsanullah got a chance to play in Pakistan's T20 team. In March 2023, he got the opportunity to start his international career against Afghanistan. After this, he also made his place against New Zealand and also made his debut in ODI cricket. Seeing his speed and accurate bowling, it was clear that he could play an important role in Pakistan's fast bowling lineup in the future.
After retiring from PSL, Ihsanullah made it clear that his main aim now is to focus on domestic cricket. He said, "I don't want to play franchise cricket anymore. My goal now is to represent Pakistan without PSL exposure." His move shows that he wants to secure his place in the national team and for this he will try to improve his bowling further at the domestic level.
