Trevoh Chalobah breaks silence on Chelsea return after 'hard' Enzo Maresca transfer call

Trevoh Chalobah has penned an emotional tribute to Crystal Palace after he was recalled from his loan spell by Chelsea.

Chalobah, 25, made 14 appearances for the Eagles after joining on a season-long in August but was recalled by the Blues on Wednesday after a string of defensive injuries at Stamford Bridge.

Writing on X, the defender said: "It was short and sweet, but this club made such an impact on me so quickly. I was made to feel at home from day one, from the staff, teammates, community and you the supporters.

Chalobah, who has made 80 appearances for , will rejoin Enzo Maresca's first team and wear the No.23 shirt at Stamford Bridge.

In November, Chalobah spoke about the difficulties of leaving Stamford Bridge after being cast aside by new manager Maresca.

"It was hard. With football, these challenges have to come, you can't separate challenges and success," Chalobah told the BBC. "I've been through a lot growing up, I didn't let it affect me.

"Everyone can conduct themselves when it's all good, but I think it's when things are not going your way you've got to be really strong up here.

Coming in, training, doing my own bit. I waited potentially, didn't sulk, didn't feel sorry for myself. I just got myself ready - and now I'm here."

Chalobah could be involved in Chelsea's Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night.
