Sharib Hashmi has always been the family man. He re-started his career at 33 and today is a successful actor who never fails to impress his audience. When you speak with Sharib Hashmi it is all things wholesome genuine and straight from the heart. He has always been open about his struggles the hardships and everything in between too. In an exclusive conversation with India.com Hashmi speaks his heart where he talks about his first paycheck looks back at his career the moment he saw himself on big screen for the first time ‘Family Man Season 3’ and more. Hashmi always adds his personal touch with a tinge of humour and comic timing. While performing the character of Ved in his latest webshow ‘Khoj’ he revealed that it was first time that he did a role without humour and it was challenging in its own right. Hashmi has seen his fair share of struggle and put in every bead of sweat to reach where he is today. Sharib Hashmi Looks Back at His Career From playing side character to leading a web series Hashmi has essayed myriad shades of characters. He started acting whilst pursuing his job too. During the shoot of both Haal-e-Dil and Slumdog Millionaire in 2008 he used to complete his short scenes and get back to his day job. Recalling his trajectory he said that when he decided to quit his job and pursue acting full time it took him over three years to bag a good role in a film like ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan.’ Usko mai apni pehli film manta hun and woh jab maine badhe parde pe dekhi toh woh mere liye magical moment tha” he says. Sharib Hashmi shared a beautiful bond with his father who was journalist. It was he who wanted Hashmi to become an actor. And here is he an actor the audience eagerly loves to see on screen. In between the conversation surrounding his work web shows we indulged in the essence of the “firsts of many” – be it the first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan or seeing oneself on big screen. When asked what he did with his first paycheck Hashmi said “ Uss waqt toh ghar ke kharche mai hi nikal gaya pata hi nahi chala. Uss time kuch karne ke layak nahi tha kyunki badhe saalon baad kuch kaam mila tha and tab tak bahut karze chadhe hue the sar par and ghar ka kharcha  bhi tha. Toh mai who pehle paycheck se kuch enjoy karne ke liye woh chizein kar nahi paya. Woh toh roz ki chizon mai hi chala gaya and kuch udhar nikalne mai.” After being so many years in the industry we asked Hashmi if he is happy and satisfied to see himself today. To this smiled and humbly said “Mai Sharib Hashmi is happy but definitely not satisfied. Yeh satisfaction hogaya toh admi wahi ruk jayaga khatam hojaiga. Abhi toh bahut saari chizein achieve karni hai bahut kaam karna hai bahut logo se milna hai bahut logon ke sath collaborate karna. Khush hun but abhi satisfaction ke ‘s’ pe bhi nahi aya hun.” He agreed to be in gratitude of what all he has achieved. Sharib Hashmi on Family Man 3 Hashmi who is widely known for his role of JK Talpade expressed his excitement about the show. He said Abhi uska last schedule shoot ho raha hai kab ayga woh toh mujhe bhi nahi pata exact date yaa mahina toh. Jabhi bhi ayaga toh mast machayega. Reportedly it is to air in 2025 but exact date is yet to be confirmed. Sharib Hashmi was last seen in Zee5 Global’s weseries ‘Khoj: Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paar’.
