Raise public awareness of road safety: Collector Ranjith

During a meeting on Thursday at the Collectorate’s conference hall, District Collector P. Ranjith Basha gave the authorities instructions to raise awareness of road safety among vehicle users. He displayed posters for 2025’s National Road Safety Month.

The collector emphasized the need of engaging the public, students, and vehicle users in road safety awareness programs throughout the January 16–February 15 observation period. He emphasized the importance of wearing helmets while riding motorbikes and advised drivers to refrain from driving while intoxicated. He emphasized the need of educating drivers about the risks of reckless driving and excessive speeding.

Ranjith Basha emphasized the dangers of using a phone while driving and pushed for widespread awareness-building. Additionally, he emphasized the need of using seat belts while driving and urged authorities to inform the public of this fact. Additionally, the authorities were instructed to make sure that autorickshaws don’t transport more people than they can accommodate.

The collector suggested that suitable measures be put in place to avoid accidents and instructed the authorities to locate and remove black spots on state and federal routes.

Deputy Transport Commissioner Shantakumari, DRO Venkata Narayanamma, Additional SP (Admin) Hussain Peer, Assistant Collector Challa Kalyani, and other officials were in attendance.
