Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of "making a mockery of the Royal Family's customary neutrality" after the couple recenly issued a furioous statement.
The Duke of Sussex's in late 2024 after Mr Trump previously hinted that he could intervene regarding Harry's visa "if he lied" about taking drugs in the past.
Nile Gardiner, Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom director, has accused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of making a "mockery" of the Royal Family after the pair recently went on a "hugely inappropriate" rant criticising Meta's decision to abandon its much-criticised fact-checking program.
Meghan and Harry recently urged Meta, which is led by billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, to reverse its adoption of a "Community Notes" approach to fact-checking across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads in a statement released by the Sussexes' office via their Archewell Foundation website this week.
In their statement, the couple said the move, regardless of someone's political stance, "directly undermines free speech".
Mr Gardiner recently told the that Meghan and Harry's latest outcry was "clear intervention on a deeply political matter".
He said on Wednesday: "For members of the Royal Family to engage in such overtly political matters is, quite frankly, highly inappropriate. It goes against royal protocol.
"Their use of these titles to further their personal and political agendas makes a mockery of the Royal Family's customary neutrality. Their statement wasn't a moderate call for dialogue or understanding; it was an outright political rant."
Mr Gardiner, who has met with Donald Trump on many occasions, said he would highly recommend the release of Prince Harry's immigration records to the US President-elect.
As of late month, Meghan and Harry appeared to confirm that they had "no intention" of moving their young family out of the United States.
Speaking about bringing their children - Archie, five, and Lilibet, three - up in the US during his appearance at The New York Times DealBook Summit, Harry said: ""I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here."
The couple currently live with Archie and Lilibet in Montecito, California.
