Melbourne [Australia], January 21: Novak Djokovic of Serbia will face Carlos Alcaraz of Spain in the men’s singles quarterfinal on Tuesday in one of the most anticipated events of the current Australia Open 2025.
There will be live streaming and live telecasting of the Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Alcaraz Australian Open 2025 quarterfinal match at the Rod Laver Arena in India. At 2:40 PM IST, the game is set to begin.
Djokovic, 37, last faced Alcaraz, 21 in the 2024 Olympic final in Paris, when the Serbian won gold with straight-set victories of 7(7)-6(3), 7(7)-6(2).
Djokovic, who is seeded eighth at the 2025 Australian Open, has faced Alcaraz seven times already, and the Serbian has a 4-3 head-to-head record against the young Spaniard.
In addition to winning a bronze in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Djokovic holds the record for the most men’s Grand Slam victories (24) in history. A record ten of these have occurred in the Australian Open.
In the fourth round, he defeated Czechia’s Jiri Lehecka, the 24th seed, 6-3, 6-4, 7(7)-6(4), dropping only two sets his route to this year’s quarterfinals.
In 2023, the 37-year-old defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-3, 7-6(7-4), 7-6(7-5) in the final to earn his last Australian Open victory.
Carlos Alcaraz, the third seed, hasn’t yet taken home the Australian Open trophy, however. In the first two Grand Slams of the season, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
The youthful Spaniard has now won one French Open, two Wimbledons, and a US Open, but the Australian Open has proved to be elusive.
Carlos Alcaraz was easily defeated by Jack Draper of Great Britain in the fourth round. The fifteenth-seeded Draper was down 7-5, 6-1, when the Spaniard chose to give up.
On his way to the Australian Open quarterfinals, Olympic silver champion Alcaraz has only lost one set to Nuno Borges of Portugal in the third round.
