Indore: Construction Of 23 Master Plan Roads At Fast Pace

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): To improve urban infrastructure, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is gearing up to construct 23 roads under its Master Plan, with work moving at a fast pace. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav held a meeting with officials on Monday to review the progress and discuss the projects.

He instructed the officials to prioritise marking the centre lines of the roads and issuing notices to parties concerned if necessary. Bhargav said that 23 roads were proposed under the Indore Master Plan. Currently, construction work was ongoing for the road from RE-2 Bicholi Hapsi to Bhuri Tekri via Nayata Mundla.

In the first phase, work on eight roads is set to begin this week. These roads include Subhash Marg (Gol Mandir to Ram Bagh Bridge) with a length of 1,300 metres and width of 30 metres, Link Road (MR-10 to MR-12) running 1,800 metres with a width of 30 metres and MR-5 (Bada Bangarda to PMAY Multi) which is 1,700 metres long and 24 metres wide.

Other roads in the first phase are: Bhamori Square to MR-10 and Rajshahi Garden to Hotel Watch (1,100 metres long and 30 metres wide), Veer Savarkar Statue to Atal Gate (1,310 metres long, 18 metres wide), Advance Academy to Ring Road (3,650 metres long, 30 metres wide), Jamjam Square to Star Square (1,920 metres long, 30 metres wide) and the Ring Road from Khajrana Temple Gate to Jamjam Square (1,120 metres long and 18 metres wide).

The Mayor emphasised the importance of maintaining quality and adhering to timelines, instructing department heads and building officials to begin construction at the earliest. He also highlighted the need for thorough preparation before starting work, ensuring that the centre lines of the roads were marked within this week to avoid delays.
