Six people were killed and 31 others injured in a fire at a ski resort hotel in northwestern Turkey, state broadcaster TRT said on Tuesday.
Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin said the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the 11-story hotel in Bolu's Kartalkaya ski resort at about 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday and firefighters were still working to put it out. He said the cause of the fire was not immediately clear but officials were investigating. The governor said 234 people were in the hotel.
In the pictures shown on television, the roof and upper floors of the hotel are seen on fire. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet. It has been told that 30 fire engines have been sent to the spot, which are continuously trying to extinguish the fire. Along with this, 28 ambulances have been sent to the spot, through which the injured people have been taken to the hospital.
At the same time, continuous efforts are being made to evacuate the people trapped in the hotel. There is panic in the surrounding area due to the fire. It is being told that the administration has evacuated many people from the hospital. However, some people are still trapped. The authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the victims.
