Many blockbuster films like Bahubali KGF Pushpa and Pushpa 2 have come from the South Indian film industry. These movies not only gained massive popularity in South India but also left a big impact on Bollywood making South Indian actors pan-India stars. Last year was incredible for the South Indian film industry. The highly anticipated sequel Pushpa 2 directed by Sukumar was released and made a huge splash at the box office on its very first day. It broke several records with its phenomenal performance.
This year another big film starring a popular actor hit the theatres but unlike Pushpa 2 it struggled to attract audiences and within 10 days theatres were nearly empty. The film has become number one on the list of flop films.
Directed by S. Shankar in Telugu and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations the political-action film is Game Changer and it stars Ram Charan in dual roles alongside Kiara Advani Anjali S. J. Suryah Srikanth Sunil Jayaram and Samuthirakani.
According to media reports Game Changer made on a massive budget of Rs 450 crore turned out to be a major flop earning only one-fourth of its budget. Released in theatres on January 10 2025 this film starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani appears to have failed at the box office. Even 10 days after its release the film has not managed to earn a quarter of its cost let alone come close to recovering it.
Game Changer surpassed Indian 2 Kanguva and Radhe Shyam in terms of budget. Radhe Shyam was made on a budget of Rs 200-350 crore and it earned only Rs 165.18 crore. Indian 2 was made on a budget of Rs 250-300 crore and earned Rs 151 crore. Kanguva was made on a budget of Rs 350 crore and earned Rs 106 crore.
